Buona la prima! The first official outing of the season for the club was positive, as we gained the desired 3 points, and the performance was also positive. On a historical note, in this our 4^th season in the Premier League, it is the very first time that Marsaxlokk FC has obtained victory in the first league outing, therefore let’s hope it is a good omen, a sign of things to come.

The team however still needs time to settle, as our 7 new acquisitions have not had enough time to integrate with each other and with the other players. Yet we are confident that with a little time and patience, and most of all, effort, the team will not only obtain the results but also reach a high standard of play which is most certainly within our reach.

And what we stress most was certainly present in the first game, as each and every player gave no less than 100%. Coupled with the good crowd of supporters that turned out to watch the match, it is a winning combination that we hope will take us far. We now await the next game, games actually, because we will be playing 2 games in 3 days. It will be a good test for the team, one I’m sure everyone relishes.

For the forthcoming season I wish to address you all once every fortnight or so. I will be sharing my thoughts and words with the team, committee, media, and of course the supporters.
