Cleavan Frendo is the first winner of ‘The BOV Player of the Month Award’ this season. The Marsaxlokk midfielder-cum-forward totalled the highest number of points in the matches played by all the teams during the month of August.
Signed from Pieta Hotspurs before the January 2005 transfer window closed last season, the 22-year-old Frendo has lived up to his promise with his new team, scoring goals as well as making them for the others.
His speed off the mark and his high work-rate have made him an automatic choice for his country’s Under 21 team in these last years, apart from having been capped for Malta’s senior squad. He has already featured twice on the U/21 goalscorers’ list
